When I got back to Utah, I got a text from a friend asking if I wanted to hit up the narrows in a few weeks. “The Narrows” is a 16 mile hike through the river canyon that eventually carves out Zion National Park. It’s been on my checklist for a while so I didn’t hesitate to say “I’m In.” I didn’t realize he meant the following weekend! On a days notice, I rounded up my friend Dimo, met up with Craig and his girlfriend and took off to Zion. We got a tip on a rad camping spot from my roomate Mike and hit the weather perfectly. (no chance of flash flooding and great temps). 3 days later…
Back at home by the Wasatch the weather turned, and I don’t mean to fall. I mean summer just ended and I’m looking forward to seeing the leaves turn. Not a chance, it’s puking out up in the cottonwoods and they are calling for 4-8 inches up high. RAD! So what did I do? Went up as high as I could on foot during the middle of it. Things got a little socked in as I approached Emma’s Ridge but nonetheless, the hike was pretty magical, colors, moose, deer, no one around. I took a pumpkin beer and some Oreos with me for a snack. Hope you enjoy the photos! WInter is on the way!
